Making the Most of March

We started off the month of March with a bang!  On Monday, we hosted the March community meeting in the gym.  Students wore their Dr Seuss hats, played a Dr Seuss trivia game, listened to a Dr Seuss book on the ipad, and read with their kindergarten buddies.  We had a blast!

In math we've been practicing telling time to the minute.  Though it can be difficult, everyone in room 108 seems to be up for the challenge!

In readers' workshop students have started using new book sheets to encourage more thinking and writing about the books they read.  It's all about comprehending our reading and proving it!

We also started a new writing unit.  We're studying the writing of Donald Crews to help us write better small moments stories.

Science has been dedicated to balancing all sorts of shapes and objects with the help of counterweights.

You all should have received a save-the-date email regarding our next writing celebration.  More info will be coming your way soon!

Daylight savings is this weekend.  Don't forget to spring ahead!
